On the evening of December 7, 1998 a host of stars turned out for a spectacular 50th anniversary tribute to one of the best loved and most influential singers of our time, Mr. Tony Bennett. Dubbed An All Star Tribute, the event comprised the 10th installment of Live By Request. This DVD is a complete record of that star-studded evening, and includes spoken testimonials to Mr. Bennett's artistry from a wide array of musicians representing nearly every genre of music (Billy Joel, Elvis Costello, Burt Bacharach, Kiss, Madonna and Sting), as well as tributes from the worlds of film, television and Broadway (George Clooney, Billy Crystal, Cameron Diaz, Harrison Ford, Matt Lauer, Gregory Peck and Joe Pesci).

Because having the fans call the shots is at the very center of Mr. Bennett's concept for the Live By Request series, An All Star Tribute also features Bennett aficionados phoning in from across the country to request their favorite songs. Also included are musical tributes from country music superstar Clint Black, who pays homage to Tony's take on the Hank Williams' classic "Cold Cold Heart," and songstress Natalie Cole who covers the Bennett classic "Smile," among many other surprises.
